Synonyms:
  • 1,4-Dithiapentalene
  • K0277
Description:

Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene is a heterocyclic compound that has a phase transition temperature of -146.6°C. It has been shown to have a hydroxyl group in the molecule and can be synthesized by reacting naphthalene with thiourea. Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene is chemically stable and can be used to form polymers. It also has high values for transport properties as it is volatile at room temperature. This molecule has been shown to emit light when it reacts with metal carbonyl complexes, which are often used in organic synthesis reactions. Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene is also capable of undergoing Suzuki coupling reactions with other molecules due to its electron donating ability.
