Description:
1-(Tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)ethanone is a high yield, peroxide precursor. The compound can be converted to hydrogen peroxide by reacting it with an oxidant such as sodium hypochlorite. Hydrogen peroxide is used in various industrial and commercial processes including water treatment, waste water treatment, and bleaching of cellulose pulp. The compound also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties.
