L-Threoninol is a natural compound that can be found in many foods and plants. It has been shown to have antimicrobial properties, inhibiting the growth of bacteria by disrupting their cell membranes. L-Threoninol has a disulfide bond in its structure and is susceptible to hydrogen fluoride, which may explain its activity against bacteria. L-Threoninol also has inhibitory properties against biological processes such as DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. The mechanism of action of this drug is not well understood, but it may act by binding to dna template or hybridizing with dna duplexes. L-Threoninol may also bind to human serum albumin, making it more potent than other compounds that are not bound to proteins.
