Description:

Tin(IV) bromide is a white, crystalline solid. It is used in analytical chemistry as a reagent for the qualitative detection of fatty acids. Tin(IV) bromide reacts with hydrogen fluoride to form stable complexes. The thermal expansion and chemical stability of tin(IV) bromide make it a good choice as a solid catalyst.
