Description:

Tartronic acid is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative that is used as an oxidation catalyst. It can be used in wastewater treatment and as a chemical stabilizer for malonic acid. Tartronic acid is also an intermediate for the production of pharmaceuticals, such as antibiotics and anti-cancer drugs. One of the most important applications of tartronic acid is in the production of synthetase, which catalyzes the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids. This enzyme has been used in bone cancer chemotherapy to inhibit tumor growth and metastasis.
