Product Information
- 4-(Trifluoromethyl)benzoic anhydride
- Tfba
4-Trifluoromethylbenzoic anhydride is a chemical reagent that is used in biological research. It reacts with amines to form p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which can be detected by monoclonal antibody. This compound has been shown to have a role in the transcription and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of DNA. 4-Trifluoromethylbenzoic anhydride has also been shown to bind to light emitting molecules, such as luminol, and may therefore have a role in the detection of infectious diseases and other conditions. The thermal expansion of this compound was determined by measuring its refractive index at various temperatures. The hydrogen bonding between this compound and water has also been studied using infrared spectroscopy, kinetic data, and molecular modeling techniques.
