Tetrabutylammonium fluoride hydrate is a non-metallic, inorganic compound that is used as a reagent for the preparation of picolinic acid. It is also used in vitro to investigate receptor activity and as a reagent for the synthesis of fatty acids. Tetrabutylammonium fluoride hydrate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat cardiac diseases, such as myocardial infarction. It can also be used to treat nervous system diseases, such as Parkinson's disease. Tetrabutylammonium fluoride hydrate has been shown to inhibit the production of estrogen receptor modulators in human serum and has been found to have blood disorder properties. The compound has an NMR spectrum that shows it has a hydroxy group at position 1 and an oxo group at position 3 on its structure.
