3,4,5-Trichlorobenzotrifluoride is an organic compound with the formula Cl3C6H2F3. It is a colorless liquid that reacts with water to form hydrochloric acid. The compound was first prepared in 1894 by the chlorination of benzotrichloride using chlorine and sulfuric acid. 3,4,5-Trichlorobenzotrifluoride is an isomeric mixture of three compounds: 1-chloro-3,4,5-trichlorobenzene (1), 1-chloro-2,4,5-trichlorobenzene (2), and 1-chloro-3,5-trichlorobenzene (3). The ratio of these three compounds depends on the reaction conditions used. 3,4,5-Trichlorobenzotrifluoride has been used for the synthesis of other chemicals
