1-(Toluene-4-sulfonyl)piperazine is an efficient method for the synthesis of epidermal growth factor (EGF). It is a potent antitumor agent with a dihedral angle of 44.5°, and it has been used in the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, and breast cancer. 1-(Toluene-4-sulfonyl)piperazine also has a high affinity for the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which is important for its ability to inhibit tumor proliferation. This drug binds to the active site of EGFR, which is located in the extracellular domain of the receptor, and inhibits receptor activation by preventing ligand binding.
