Product Information
Titanium oxysulfate is a chemical compound that contains titanium and sulfur. It is used for the treatment of wastewater containing organic compounds, such as carboxylic acids and alcohols. Titanium oxysulfate reacts with water vapor to form titanium sulfate and hydrogen peroxide. This reaction mechanism is shown in the following equation: TiO(SO)4 + H2O → TiSO4 + 2H2O2
Titanium oxysulfate has been shown to react with benzalkonium chloride and metal hydroxides to produce high values on a electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The oxide of titanium can be easily removed from this compound by adding an acid or base. Titanium oxysulfate has a higher chemical stability than other titanium salts due to the presence of sulfur.
