Description:

2-(Trifluoromethyl)benzoyl chloride is an organofluorine compound that belongs to the class of amines. It can be used to synthesize covid-19, a drug used in the treatment of pandemic 2009 H1N1 influenza. 2-(Trifluoromethyl)benzoyl chloride can be synthesized by coupling benzoyl chloride with an amine using a Grignard reagent. The product can then be purified by fractional distillation and recrystallization techniques. 2-(Trifluoromethyl)benzoyl chloride has the ability to form iminium ions and undergo photolysis, which leads to the release of hydrogen chloride gas. This chemical also has acidic properties, which are pH dependent.
