Tetramethyl ammonium hydrogen sulphate is a pharmacologic agent that is used as a pyridinium salt. It has been shown to have UV absorption and can be used in analytical chemistry as a magnesium salt. Tetramethyl ammonium hydrogen sulphate also has cap-dependent endonuclease activity, which can be used for the analysis of rat hepatocytes. This compound is non-polymeric and dehydrating with a liquid crystal composition. Tetramethyl ammonium hydrogen sulphate has been shown to increase chloride levels and decrease fatty acid concentrations in urine samples, which may be due to its effect on the kidneys.
