2,3,5-Trifluoropyridine is a perfluorinated heterocycle that can be used as a catalyst to promote nucleophilic attack on metal hydrides. 2,3,5-Trifluoropyridine has been shown to modulate the activity of aluminium and nitro compounds by forming hydrogen bonds with these molecules. This molecule has also been shown to be capable of mediating an interaction between chloride and fluorine.
