Product Information
- 2,4,6-Triphenylpyranium Hydrogen Sulfate
2,4,6-Triphenylpyrlium hydrogen sulfate is a synthetic process that is used to produce p-hydroxybenzoic acid and protocatechuic acid. It is produced by the reaction of cinnamic acid derivatives with hydrogen sulfate in the presence of light. This process has been shown to be effective in wastewater treatment and as an insecticide. 2,4,6-Triphenylpyrlium hydrogen sulfate can be made by reacting carbaryl with pyrylium. The radiation from this reaction causes the formation of a new carbon-carbon bond between two carbon atoms and produces 2,4,6-triphenylpyrlium hydrogensulfate.
