2-(Thiophen-2-yl)thiazole-4-carboxylic acid (TTCA) is a disulfide bond inhibitor that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cervical cancer. TTCA inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species, which are involved in tumorigenesis. TTCA also has an effect on locomotor activity and can inhibit monoclonal antibody binding to its receptor. TTCA synergizes with other drugs such as 5HT agonists, which are used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The mechanism of this synergistic effect may be due to the structural similarity between these two compounds.
