Description:

The biosynthesis of (Z)-11-tetradecenal starts from fatty acid, which is then converted into an alcohol by the action of an enzyme. The alcohol then undergoes oxidation by cytochrome P450 to produce the corresponding aldehyde. This reaction will continue until all of the fatty acid has been converted into (Z)-11-tetradecenal.
