Product Information

Name:
Trithiocyanuric acid trisodium
Description:

Trithiocyanuric acid trisodium (TTCA) is a salt of trithiocyanuric acid and sodium hydroxide. It is an environmentally friendly metal chelator that can be used for the treatment of wastewater containing heavy metals, such as copper, zinc, lead and nickel. TTCA is also used for the removal of chlorides from water. The adsorption mechanism of TTCA is based on its ability to form stable complexes with metal ions. This process requires that TTCA has to be dissolved in water before it can be used. The reaction between TTCA and hydrogen chloride produces hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. The reaction between TTCA and magnesium salt produces magnesium chloride and sodium thiosulphate.
