Description:
1-(4-Toluenesulfonyl)-3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole is a small molecule that has anti-cancer properties. It binds to DNA and inhibits the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and telomerase activity in cancer cells. The compound also blocks the binding of the mineralocorticoid receptor to DNA, which may lead to an increase in insulin sensitivity. 1-(4-Toluenesulfonyl)-3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole has been shown to inhibit telomerase activity in yeast and human cell lines. The chemical stability of this compound is good at room temperature or lower temperatures.
