Product Information
- L-Thr-bNA(S)-2-Amino-3-hydroxybutanoic acid b-naphthylamide
L-Threonine beta-naphthylamide is a chromogenic compound that is formed by condensation of 2-naphthylamine and l-threonine. The carboxy group in the compound reacts with the amino group of l-threonine to form an amide. This reaction is catalyzed by acid or base. L-Threonine beta-naphthylamide reacts with bases to form a carboxylate, which has a positive charge at physiological pH. It can be used as a reagent to measure the concentration of l-threonine in solution.
