O-Trityl-L-Pyroglutaminol (OTPG) is a chiral diastereomer of the natural amino acid L-pyroglutamic acid. It can be used in organic synthesis as a dienophile for the Diels-Alder reaction to produce cycloadducts with high stereoselectivity and excellent efficiency. OTPG is also an efficient, recyclable, and selective reagent for the asymmetric synthesis of chiral olefins.
