Description:
Tetrahydropyran-3-carbaldehyde is a functional group that has been shown to be a ligand for copper in coordination chemistry. It has also been used as a synthetic intermediate and as an anti-inflammatory agent. Tetrahydropyran-3-carbaldehyde has a high affinity for chloride, which leads to the dissociation of the molecule into acetonitrile and chloride ions. This chemical can be found in many irritants, such as acetonitrile, which is used in the manufacturing of plastics and rubbers. Tetrahydropyran-3-carbaldehyde binds to phosphine through coordinate covalent bonding and reacts with oxidant to form an oxidation product.
