Product Information
- 4-Thiazolecarboxamide
- 1,3-Thiazole-4-carboxamide
Thiazole-4-carboxamide is a potent antagonist of the human 5HT2B receptor. It also has minimal toxicity and is selective for the 5HT2B receptor. Thiazole-4-carboxamide has been shown to be cytotoxic to lung fibroblasts in vitro, with significant cell death observed after 72 hours. The cytotoxicity of thiazole-4-carboxamide may be due to its ability to inhibit adenine nucleotide synthesis and uptake in cells, leading to the depletion of ATP. This drug may also lead to cancer cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis and glycosidic bond formation.
Clinical studies suggest that this drug may be effective against a variety of cancers including breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer.
