Product Information

Name:
2-Trifluoromethylindole
Synonyms:
  • 2-Trifluoromethyl-1H-indole
Description:

2-Trifluoromethylindole is a synthetic chemical that is used as an intermediate to synthesize other chemical compounds. It is obtained by reacting anilines with acid catalysts in the presence of chloride and methyl proton, followed by isolation of the product. The reaction yields 2-trifluoromethylindole with an isolated yield of about 75%. This compound has been shown to be efficient in the palladium-catalyzed coupling reaction between phenyl derivatives and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT)6 receptor ligands.
