Description:

Tris-succinimidyl aminotriacetate is a fluorescent probe that binds to the hepcidin receptor. Tris-succinimidyl aminotriacetate has been used in the study of iron homeostasis, particularly in women and cardiac patients. It has also been used to detect bowel disease and glomerular filtration rate. This probe can be used to detect hepcidin expression in intestinal cells and is often found in urine samples from women with an inflammatory bowel disease. It has also been used to measure growth factor levels in blood samples from healthy individuals and those with heart failure. The fluorescence intensity of this compound increases with increasing pH, making it useful for measuring acidity levels of the stomach or urinary tract.
