Description

Tetraacetylethylenediamine is a model system that has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of bacteria. It has an inhibitory dose of 0.2 mg/L, and it can be used as a wastewater treatment agent. Tetraacetylethylenediamine inhibits bacterial growth by reacting with nitrogen atoms in the cell wall and forming an inorganic acid that destroys the cell membrane.
