Product Information
- Tetrahydro-2H-thiopyran-4-carboxylic acid
Tetrahydrothiopyran-4-carboxylic acid is a heteroatomic compound that is an intermediate in the synthesis of prolinate. It is a reactive, acidic compound that reacts with water molecules to form hydrogen ions and protons. This reaction may be due to the release of electrons from the carboxy group, which are then transferred to the electron acceptor. Tetrahydrothiopyran-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to have chemotactic activity on neutrophils and promotes their movement towards a site of injury by binding to receptors on their cell membranes. Tetrahydrothiopyran-4-carboxylic acid has also been shown to increase levels of nucleotides and enhance photocatalytic activity.
