Product Information
- Pyridine, 2,3,5-tribromo-
2,3,5-Tribromopyridine is a heterocyclic organic compound that is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to be a useful cross-coupling agent for the synthesis of unsymmetrical amides and ureas. 2,3,5-Tribromopyridine can be prepared by reacting bromoacetic acid with an organometallic reagent such as Grignard or lithium reagents. 2,3,5-Tribromopyridine is also used as a starting material for the synthesis of halogenated compounds. This chemical is soluble in organic solvents such as dichloromethane and chloroform but insoluble in water.
