Description:
Tert-butyl O,O-dimethylphosphonoacetate is an organophosphorus compound that can be used in the synthesis of aldehydes. It is synthesized by reductive cleavage of a tertiary alcohol with sodium borohydride. Tert-butyl O,O-dimethylphosphonoacetate has been shown to react with aldehydes in the presence of base to give chiral phosphonates.
