Product Information
- Trimethyl(perfluoroethyl)silane
- Trimethyl-pentafluoroethylsilane
Trimethyl(pentafluoroethyl)silane is a colorless liquid that can be used as a hydrogen chloride scavenger. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity in the presence of acid environments and radiation, and is also an inhibitor of kinase enzymes. Trimethyl(pentafluoroethyl)silane has shown particular selectivity for inhibiting protein kinases such as PKC, Fyn, and Akt. In addition, this compound was found to inhibit chemokine production by human monocytes. The pharmacokinetic properties of trimethyl(pentafluoroethyl)silane are not well known. Trimethyl(pentafluoroethyl)silane is soluble in water and can be used as a coating material for metals or plastics.
