Description:

1H-Tridecafluorohexane is a glycol ether with a hydrocarbon solvent. It is used in the manufacture of epoxides and as a hydrogen bond acceptor in organic synthesis. 1H-Tridecafluorohexane has shown to be toxic to Sprague-Dawley rats, causing reduced weight gain and changes in liver function tests. The test animals also showed symptoms of nervous system depression, including ataxia and hypoactivity. This glycol ether has been shown to have high melting point, which may be due to the presence of hydrogen bonding between the functional groups. It does not contain chlorine atoms.
