Tridecafluoro-n-octyl acrylate (TFAA) is a fluorinated compound that is used in the production of coatings. TFAA has a high chemical stability, which makes it an appropriate candidate for wastewater treatment. TFAA has been shown to be a good substrate for the deposition of polymers. The polymer film with TFAA as the precursor was found to have better durability than films made from other common precursors. TFAA can also be used for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and structural analysis. The use of TFAA as a photoelectron source is also possible due to its high fluorine content. Tridecafluoro-n-octyl acrylate may cause environmental effects such as ozone depletion and global warming because it contains chlorine atoms.
