N,N,N',N'-Tetramethyl-1,4-diaminobutane is an organic compound that is used as a polymerization initiator. It has been shown to have peroxidase-like activity and can be used in the treatment of Covid-19 pandemic. N,N,N',N'-Tetramethyl-1,4-diaminobutane is a colorless liquid with a strong odor. The compound takes on a greenish hue when exposed to light or heat. It has two chiral centers and four stereoisomers. The compound is soluble in water and dimethyl sulfoxide but insoluble in hexane.
