Description:
1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecane Tetrahydrochloride is a bifunctional linker with the ability to bind metal ions and to undergo electrochemical oxidation. This compound has been used as a ligand in diagnostic devices, such as luminescence properties. 1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecane Tetrahydrochloride is also used in the synthesis of metal nanoparticles for catalysis. The nitro group on this molecule can be reduced to an amine group by reaction with sodium nitrite. The cycloalkyl groups on this molecule can be oxidized to form aldehyde or ketone groups by reaction with potassium permanganate. The lanthanide group on this molecule can be reacted with an alkyl halide to form the corresponding metal-halogen complex.
