Product Information

Name:
2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)furan
Synonyms:
  • (2-Furanyloxy)trimethylsilane
Description:

2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)furan is an organic compound that is used as a reactant for the synthesis of other organic compounds. It has been used as a homogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of β-unsaturated ketones and as a synthon in the reaction with ethyl diazoacetate to produce an acetal. 2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)furan can be used in a suzuki coupling reaction which produces phosphonates, imines, and stereoselective products. The nucleophilic nature of this substrate makes it useful for reactions with ammonium nitrate, producing nucleophilic substitution products with high yield. 2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)furan has also been shown to have a high reaction rate in nmr spectra.
