Trimethyl[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium Chloride has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to their cell walls and disrupting the cell membrane structure. This chemical has also been shown to be biocompatible with polyvinyl alcohol and hydrotalcite, which are materials used in the production of medical devices.
