Triethoxy(1H,1H,2H,2H-nonafluorohexyl)silane is a synthetic organosilicon compound that has been shown to be a good candidate for the coating of polyolefin substrates. Triethoxy(1H,1H,2H,2H-nonafluorohexyl)silane is hydrophobic and can be used for coatings on surfaces that are exposed to high temperatures or chemically unstable environments. It also has an interaction with feedstocks such as polyethylene and polypropylene. The hydroxyl groups in this molecule allow it to interact with other molecules by hydrogen bonding. This provides stability against chemical reactions and makes it possible to predict the surface properties of triethoxy(1H,1H,2H,2H-nonafluorohexyl)silane coatings on different substrates.
