Description:

m-(Trifluoromethoxy)benzoic acid is a hydrogenated form of m-hydroxybenzoic acid. It has been shown to be an effective ligand for the magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) of biologically important molecules such as hemoglobin and sulfur, which are important in the study of long-chain fatty acids. MRS can be used to study the nature and form of carbonyl groups in aliphatic compounds. This compound has also been used in the synthesis of formic acid, an advance in organic chemistry.
