3,4,5-trifluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride is a chemical compound that inhibits the enzyme β-glucosidase. It is used in histamine isolation and identification techniques and has been shown to be a reversible inhibitor of this enzyme. The inhibition of β-glucosidase by 3,4,5-trifluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride may be due to its ability to bind to the active site of the enzyme. This binding prevents substrate from binding, resulting in decreased production of histamine. 3,4,5-trifluorobenzenesulfonyl chloride has also been shown to inhibit other enzymes such as phosphatases and proteases.
