2,4,6-Trifluoronitrobenzene is a chemical compound that is used in the manufacture of other chemicals. It has been shown to inhibit tyrosine kinases and may be useful in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The compound has also been shown to have anti-cancer properties and may be useful as an anti-cancer agent. 2,4,6-Trifluoronitrobenzene binds to tyrosine kinase enzymes and prevents them from phosphorylating proteins on tyrosine residues. This prevents cell division and promotes apoptosis. This chemical also causes an expansion of the dihedral angle between two molecules by 0.2 degrees and an increase in anisotropies of the vibrational mode at low temperatures.
