2,3,5,6-Tetrachloroisonicotinic Acid (TCIA) is an isomer of pentachloropyridine and has been shown to be a potential antimalarial drug. TCIA is soluble in polar solvents such as hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents. The compound is also stable in the presence of strong bases such as magnesium or lithium. TCIA has been shown to have a high affinity for chloride ions and can be used to extract gold from ores.
