H-Trp-Gly-OH is a fluorescent derivative of tryptophan. It is used in analytical chemistry to determine the concentration of tryptophan in peptide hormones by UV absorption. H-Trp-Gly-OH has been studied as a model system for intramolecular hydrogen bonding and has been shown to absorb radiation from laser ablation. This compound is also used as an analytical method for determining the purity of hydrogen gas.
