Toddalolactone is a natural product that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. It has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6 and TNF-α, in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation in vitro. Toddalolactone also inhibits the inflammatory response by inhibiting the production of IL-8 and IL-12p40 in vitro. The mechanism of action for this natural product is not yet fully understood but it may be due to its ability to inhibit NFκB activation and nuclear translocation.
