Product Information

Name:
4-Trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole
Description:

4-Trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole is a reagent used for the synthesis of pyrazoles. It has been shown to be a useful synthetic intermediate due to its regioselectivity and hydrogen fluoride (HF) sensitivity. 4-Trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole is an intermediate in the synthesis of carboxamides, which are pharmacokinetic compounds that are active against cancer cells. Pyrazoles have shown advances in their use as anti-inflammatory agents and antipyretics, with the right dose dependent on their physicochemical properties. 4-Trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazole can be synthesized by reacting sulfur with 2,4,5,6-tetrafluoroethanol and potassium hydroxide in a two step process. A yield of 100% can be obtained by recrystallization from methanol.
