Description:

Tributyldodecylphosphonium Bromide is a cationic surfactant that has been used as a catalyst in the synthesis of antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to have high values for patterning, and may be used in fatty acid solid catalysts. Tributyldodecylphosphonium Bromide is synthesized by reacting potassium hexafluorophosphate with an aliphatic hydrocarbon, such as tributylamine, which produces a carbonyl group. This reaction is then followed by the addition of an alkyl halide to produce a cationic surfactant.
