Description

2,2,3,3-Tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid (TTMCA) is a piperonyl butoxide analogue. TTMCA is an amide with a carboxyl group at the 2 position of the ring and a methyl group at the 3 position. It has been used in clinical trials for its ability to inhibit plasma concentrations of amines. It binds to the CB2 receptor and inhibits hydrogen fluoride functional assays. TTMCA also has hydrochloric acid properties which make it useful as an ester hydrochloride pharmaceutical preparation.
