Description

1H-1,2,3-Triazolo[4,5-b]pyridine (TBP) is an antimicrobial agent that is effective against bacterial and fungal infections. TBP binds to the CCR5 receptor and inhibits its activity by interfering with the formation of hydrogen bonds. This prevents the assembly of a functional protein complex that is required for HIV entry into host cells. TBP also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. The polymer film containing TBP can be used as an alternative to silver in wound dressings. Magnetic particles coated with TBP can be used for the treatment of bacterial infections in animals.
