Product Information

Name:
6-Trifluoromethylquinoline
Synonyms:
  • Quinoline, 6-(Trifluoromethyl)-
  • 6-(Trifluoromethyl)quinoline
Description:

6-Trifluoromethylquinoline is a paramagnetic organic compound that has been shown to have an activating effect on catalytic cycles. 6-Trifluoromethylquinoline interacts with molecular oxygen to form peroxides, which are oxidized by the electron in the cycles. This reaction generates an anion and a cation, which then react to form two molecules of water. The paramagnetic resonance of 6-trifluoromethylquinoline has been observed in experiments using solid state NMR and EPR spectroscopy. It has also been shown to have high catalytic activity for oxidative dehydrogenation reactions, such as alcohols and nitroalkanes.
