Description

3,3,3-Trifluoropropionamide is a synthetic compound with anti-viral activity. It has been shown to inhibit the v600e mutation in the human bcr-abl gene that causes chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). 3,3,3-Trifluoropropionamide inhibits the growth of CML cells by preventing protein synthesis. This drug also blocks the enzyme b-raf and inhibits proliferation of CML cells in a dose dependent manner. These effects are mediated by inhibition of cellular metabolism and induction of apoptosis. The pharmacokinetic properties of 3,3,3-trifluoropropionamide have not been well characterized at this time.
