Trifluoro(furan)-boron (T-4) is a cationic polymerization initiator that can be used to polymerize silicone. It has been shown to have activity against the Ebola virus, and is also an inhibitor of bladder cancer cells. T-4 has been shown to be a good cocatalyst for the Grignard reaction, which produces monomers that are useful in the production of polymers for endometrial cancer.
