Trifluoro-nickelate potassium is a metal ion that has been shown to be capable of forming a covalent bond with fluorine. It has a crystalline structure and is inexpensively available. Trifluoro-nickelate potassium has been used in the manufacture of superconductors, which are made of ceramics or monocrystalline materials. Trifluoro-nickelate potassium is also used as a catalyst for hydrogen fluoride electrolysis and as an additive in perovskite solar cells. It has magnetic properties and can be used to make thin films.
